Soda-licious!

I've been having a ball with my Sodastream since I got it shortly before Christmas! As soon as I got it I ordered a Kindle book to make my own soda syrups, and I come up with some of my own concoctions as well.

I'll tell you, since my first trip to New York, I fell in love with the egg cream. Now, I can't get Bosco here, which is the best chocolate syrup to use for it, but in a pinch, good ol' Hershey's will do. And here's a surprise, Meijer's store brand chocolate syrup is even better (not the basic bargain one, but the regular store brand one).

I added a twist to my regular egg cream recipe, and I've gotta say, I'm loving it! I love a good Terry's Chocolate Orange, so I decided to try a chocolate orange egg cream. Fantastic!

Chocolate Orange Egg Cream

1/2 cup whole milk
3 T. chocolate syrup (or more - more is good!)
1/2 cup carbonated water/soda water
1/2 tsp. orange extract

Mix the milk and chocolate syrup thoroughly in a large glass (it will foam up a LOT when you add the soda water!). Stir in the orange extract. Slowly pour in the soda water and stir gently.

Allow lot of room for a head to form, because it will about double in volume of the liquid until it settles a bit, and the fat in the milk will hold a thick, creamy foam.

Delicious! So delicious! Soda-licious!

(Note: Of course you don't need a Sodastream or any soda maker to make this. Any bottled soda water will do.)
