No time

Time. There seems to be so little of it. And as the days grow shorter, it seems my days are growing shorter, too. How is it that the time between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. - when the girls need to get all of their things done for school and chores and baths and dinner - is getting shorter? Every day, it seems to be later when things get done. The girls are to be in bed by 9, but we can't seem to get finished until 9:30 or 10 or even later. Where does the time go? How does it go so quickly? There's always so much to do. We can't spend any time relaxing. Every evening is a constant whirlwind of activity. I can't get anything done at all because I'm overseeing their work. And I'm doing it all alone. Tomorrow's going to be worse. I have an afternoon meeting at work, so I'll be home even later. I'll be lucky if I get the girls to bed by 11.

oh man, i feel some of your pain. i'm trying to get myself together too. it seems there is so much to do and i mismanage my time, i'm tired or not feeling well. it's a lot of work...hope you find some way to manage. I'm working out a schedule for myself and a to do list.

I'm working full-time plus raising three kids at home with only one full day off work every two weeks. And that one day is every other Saturday, which I spend with my fourth child, who has Asperger's and lives with his dad so he can be homeschooled. I live by lists and post-it notes because my brain is so scrambled with the constant activity that I can't hold on to a single thought for a second before it's shuffled out by something else going on!

Hey there, Happy Birthday! You sound like you are tired and exhausted and is there no wonder you are. Maybe you need to turn this around and congratulate yourself for achieving so much given everything you have going on. Seriously! And you still have time for blogging? I live by lists and post it notes too but I dont have young children anymore. It will get better particularly if you can involve your children in doing things to help. Take a deep breath and dont forget to eat because that will only be making you more tired. Remember just how much you are achieving and change the way you think about it. Take Care and when all is said and done the kids come first before any house cleaning. Some things just have to give.
