Puppy love

Awww, I'm so proud! A little while ago EJ from At Home In The Ozarks asked fellow bloggers and visitors to help her pick out a name for her unbelievably ADORABLE new puppy. I took one look at the pic and "Toby" immediately popped into my head. Imagine my surprise when I was surfing blogs again and found this post saying she'd picked my name! Pop by and see her new little cutie!

That must be a great feeling. I've had at least two bloggers I visit frequently ask their readers the same thing. I can never come up with a name so I don't even try. I just stare and stare and .... then nothing.

I know it's kind of silly, but I was so happy and excited when I saw it! I've only gotten to name our fish (we had a pair - I called them Herman and Lily) and that was after overruling the kids because they got to name the frog (Freckles) and the cat (Cookie)!

So, last weekend at my mother's house, mom, the girls and I got onto the subject of food - naturally - and Gin mentioned that she would like more things with cooked cabbage. ... Yeah, I know, right? As promised, my rant against the gay marriage bans

I haven't taken the time to outline this post, so it will probably start to wander all over the place. Consider yourself warned. But here's my rant on California's Prop 8 and the two other gay marriage bans that were enacted by the voters on Tuesday. Let's go over the standard arguments against gay marriage, and I'll address them one by one. (Thanks to the jackasses at nogaymarriage.com for making this easier.) Maybe it'll help keep this a little more organized, but I still don't promise not to stray a bit. * God says it's bad, according to the Book, anyway. We have no business legalizing behavior prohibited by God. Alright, I'm going to get the God argument out of the way right now.
